That was even less coherent than usual. And that's setting the bar pretty low.

Well, the woman has said that on the third phone call she got from her boss while she was driving back to the office from out in the field that she was told to pull over to the side of the road and resin because she was going to be on Glenn Back soon. So, I don't think it's much of a mischaracterization, if it is.

She wasn't on until the next day.

I have no idea about the story that is being referred to (The Daily Show was on vacation last week so I didn't get any news.  laugh) so my comments had nothing to do with the story being discussed.  It was Dean saying saying that the Obama administration was "afraid" of anything that came out of that knucklehead Glen Becks mouth. If Dean wasn't misrepresented the he has gone off the rails.

Here's Howard Kurtz from WAPO on Fox News being responsible:
Quote
After a news meeting Monday afternoon, an e-mail directive was sent to the news staff in which Fox Senior Vice President Michael Clemente said: "Let's take our time and get the facts straight on this story. Can we get confirmation and comments from Sherrod before going on-air. Let's make sure we do this right."

Bottom line - There's a reason why Howard Dean is no longer head of the DNC, he doesn't have the cover of the MSM any longer, like Reid and Pelosi and Obama.

Beck on the radio is totally different to Beck on Fox.

On the radio he can be very very funny.

On TV, he strikes me as 5 minutes away from Howard Beale.

Hee-hee!  Unfortunately, I have only seen him on TV.  To me, he seems more Howard Beale crossed with Jimmy Swaggart, with a dash of Howard Zinn and a soupcon of Pat Buchanan.

First;  Howard Dean has been off the rails for a while.

Second;  He could 've meant it or said it in a rhetorical way, as a snarky aside.

Third; I always love watching the aperture of some minds open and close on how strictly or loosely a persons words should be held.  Quite amazing really.

First: True.

Second: That would make some sense. Maybe I'll watch the clip after all.

Third: Ramen, brother. It is an amazing thing sometimes to witness.

It's just bizaarre as all hell the way you'll only take one thing dead nuts literally and then give others such wide latitude.   I'm sure you not even aware you do it.

Fear not my furry little friend. I consider myself very self aware. And in reference to my post above I "amaze" myself sometimes. As a matter of fact I would bet that there are examples of this amazing behavior that can be found by everyone who posts on this forum on a regular basis.

So I am very self aware. How is your self awareness?

By Dean's stated definition of defining Fox as racist, he's need to include ABC, CBS and all the rest of the mainstream news as darn near everyone played that clip before Fox News did the following day after the WH had her resign.

It would be interesting to get a rundown on exactly when each one ran the clip.

Like I said, Beck even came down on her side before any additional excerpts came out. His "lesson of the day" was Context.

He thought there was more to the story than he's seen and would wait one more day to cover it.
He was right.

I'd go so far as to say it's very typical human behavior.

Massachusetts Congressman Barney Frank caused a scene when he demanded a $1 senior discount on his ferry fare to Fire Island's popular gay haunt, The Pines, last Friday. Frank was turned down by ticket clerks at the dock in Sayville because he didn't have the required Suffolk County Senior Citizens ID. A witness reports, "Frank made such a drama over the senior rate that I contemplated offering him the dollar to cool down the situation." Frank made news last year when he was spotted looking uncomfortable around a bevy of topless, well-built men at the Pines Annual Ascension Beach Party. Frank's spokesperson confirmed to Page Six that his partner, James Ready, asked the ticket office for a regular ticket for himself and a senior ticket for Frank, "but was turned down because Frank didn't have a resident ID."

If only he was this careful with my money.

DISCLOSE Act Fails in the Senate, as Snowe Votes No
4:48 PM, Jul 27, 2010 · BY John McCormack

Republicans blocked passage of the campaign finance law known as the DISCLOSE Act on a 57 to 41 vote today. Though Democrats officially failed to break the filibuster by three votes, they are really only one vote shy from breaking the filibuster.

Harry Reid voted "no" on procedural grounds so he can bring the bill back up for a vote, and Joe Lieberman was at a funeral and unable to vote yes. The Democrats hopes of passing the bill hinged on getting one Republican, such as Maine's Olympia Snowe or Susan Collins, to vote for cloture.

Susan Collins' spokesman explained last night that the senator would vote against the bill because it “would provide a clear and unfair advantage to unions, while either shutting other organizations out of the election process or subjecting them to onerous reporting requirements that would not apply to unions.”

Olympia Snowe told reporters this afternoon that there have been “no hearings, no vetting, no attempt to bring people together.... I know the new routine on legislation these days is to ram and jam…but it really does take time…It really does require building a consensus.”

Correct. It is the self aware who understand this.
