No worries, just little curiosities like that amuse me. Reagan used to drop in lines from movies, some he was in, some he was not. This President uses bits of rock n' roll lyrics.

I've got six vehicles running now, got my tricked out Luchs, a top end PzII and BT-2 for recruit battles when I need easy money, a PzIII, an SU-26, and my new favorite, a Hetzer with the 10.5cm cannon. I still die about half the time, but if I go down, somebody usually is getting hurt. Leopards are my bane though, if I can't take them out before he gets past me, I'm toast.

I'm also enjoying the BT-2. Turns like a pig, but if you play it like a fighter and just do boom & zoom attacks, it's hard to stop.  Right now I'm just saving up for my StuG, T-26, and the SU-5. I've learned one thing, you're better off staying in a fully upgraded lower tier tank than upgrading right away.  So I've been saving up enough money and XP so when I upgrade I can get at least the most important upgrades right off the bat.

If they let my set up a subscription plan now, I probably would, even though more than half the game isn't there yet, I'm having that much fun with it. And it's been nearly bug free that I can see, had one crash on the city map, aside from that, it's been problem free.

Yep, enjoying it too.  But still on tier II.  Hmm, good tip on the BT2, I am finding that I am worst with that tank.

Weren't light tanks superceded in the war fairly quickly by mediums anyway?  So in that sense it is realistic.  E.g. T70 vs T34.  For pure recon, an armoured car/ jeep/ turretless light tank (M8) is enough.

I like the Porokova (sp?) map best so far.

Now, if they would just hurry up and bring in the UK tanks... (apart from lend lease)   6pdr cruiser tanks should = fun

Not really, or at least not by the Allied armies. With the Germans, there was a developmental timeline, where light tanks existed but were then replaced with mediums, and only later were mediums and heavies produced simultaneously (PzII gave way to PzIII gave way to PzIII). With the Allies, there were always light and medium tanks in simultaneous production. The British used Honeys in straight up armored duels, and likewise the Russians threw BTs and T-26's at German mediums, but later in the war new models were built and existed to serve in a reconaissance-by-force role (M3 Stuart gave way to M5 Stuart gave way to M24 Chaffee/T-26 gave way to T-50/T-60).

The German light tanks evolved into medium tanks. The Allied light tanks evolved into newer and more heavily armed and armored light tanks. White scout cars or M8/M20 armored cars are nice for scouting, but light tanks would do better if resistance was expected, and could even clear out a light roadblock without calling for reinforcement. These highly mobile light tanks that retained a punch did good service in the American Corps-level organic cavalry regiments.

Finally got my StuG last night, and at tier 5, I'm at the point where, if my team loses the battle and I get 50% damage or more, I'm losing money about half the time.  I got screwed last night.  I don't know if they messed with the matchup algorithm or something, but it seemed like I got stuck on some pretty weak teams, had one where the other team has an IS-3, Tiger II (Both Tier 8) and a couple of KV-3s (Tier 6), and we had one Jagdpanther and two PzIVs, everything else was tier 5 or lower.  It was a slaughter, but I didn't feel too bad since I snuck up behind the Tiger and knocked the hell out of him (Think I took him from 100% to 23%) before he got a shot in on me, I probably cost him a good bit of money, and damaging him like that got me a decent haul, even with a loss.

I think I'm going to work up to the JPzIV, then probably work on my Russian tank line for a bit.  Sold my BT-2 and went to the T-26, which is not nearly as much fun, but I need to keep working my way up, should be able to get in the T-46 tonight, which will result in me getting killed a lot for a while. :)

If anyone hasn't seen them, this page has the full tech trees for the three countries that will be in to start.  The trees won't be filled out right away, they also have the trees at release on here.  I look forward to seeing the Brits when they put it together, and see how they do the Italian and Japanese tanks.

Got a key to get in, and I'm downloading now. We'll see how late I stay up tonight, as it's already 1:30, and I have another half hour of download remaining.

Are they still available?
By the time I looked they were gone.

This site says they still have 923 left.  Not sure if you just need to register to get one or what.

I had to submit an application through the website to get one. I enhanced the number of games I've played in the last year and the amount of time I have available to devote to this one to make my application more appealing. I didn't think I was going to hear anything from them, but I got an e-mail five or so days after applying.

I played 5 games with the MS-1, and it was a bear to get through that many. My FPS ranged from 1 to three and was never higher than 6. Ping was 240-250. I hit another tank once. I won't judge the game itself until I can actually play it.

If anyone playing wants to look me up, I'm Wolfpack in game also.  They're apparently trying to add in limited teams in the next update so you might actually get to play together soon.

Apparently some more sites are giving away keys now:

This one apparently gives you a free M3 Stuart (Premium tank, which are supposedly big moneymakers since repairs and ammo are so cheap)

I've got a Pz38(t), but I'm not sure I'm going to use it much. I can't hit more than 9 fps on my laptop, and the game won't load on the desktop. Recruit battles are rough, regular battles would be murder.

Ouch, at 9 FPS, I can imagine things would be difficult.  I'm hovering around 20, and that's usually fine, though occasionally it'll spike down and kill me.
