A period between the American Civil War and the creation of Homestarrunner wherein people wore ties and drank cocktails and used grotesquely inefficient means to deliver thousands of tons of TNT to far away places whose names they could not pronounce. It was a bleak and barbaric age--a time of transistors, chequered pants and the Soviet Union. Those were the days.
