The Background
Ever since the Comgalac (Spacebeings Communist Party Galactic) rose to power, Emperor Deng has poured billions of space credits into revolutionary movements everywhere. When Bugenam VIII rose into rebellion, the war was fierce, long and messy.
The Participants
That was a decade ago. Now, Bugenam VIII is being nursed back to health by plucky NGOs and faith-based initiatives. Until the bugs showed up. They didn't care if you were trying to empower local women to respect the rights of endangered species or selling cut-rate space rice for salvation, you were dinner either way.
Naturally, the marines were called in. From their chronically undersupplied base, they guard against the bug menace and eventual betrayal. Every grunt knows that some days you're the marine, and some days you're the cornbread.
And then there's the aliens. Hated, powerful and snobbish, no one knows their agenda, not even Zarquon.
