Bughunter Dosomefink

Civilians play various roles in Bughunter: They provide scientific and technical expertise for the human team, easy-to-find food for the bugs, and non-player characters for the storyline.

Civilians are the hardest side to play.
Civilians are the hardest side to play.

Civilians can be lab personnel, innocent bystanders, ship crew, passengers, secret agents, cyborgs, mad scientists, whatever. In the game, they can suffer from the fact that, other than the Marines, they have no leadership structure to coordinate their actions. Their weapon skills and starting equipment choices are limited but they benefit from a slightly higher average INT score in character generation then the Marines.

All civilians carry a radiation badge. The rad-sensitive stripe on it slowly turns from green to red as the wearer is exposed to radiation.

In practice, civilians have proven vulnerable to internal strife, and are the most massacre-able of the three character types. They generally wander from map to map looking for a safe haven to call their own whilst individuals are culled from their number for eating purposes or for medical experiments. They're like the Jews of Bug Hunter. Or, more accurately, the Anabaptists.
