Terrain

  • Walls: black lines. Impassable, indestructible
  • Doors: red lines. Doors always block Line of Sight (LOS), but cost no additional AP to pass through
  • Stairs: stairs with bright background lead up, the dark ones lead down. You can't look/fire/throw up or down in stairwells
  • Explosive Terrain: orange background. Not functional (i.e. explosive yet)
  • Airlocks: light blue background. Airlocks on the Myrmidon (the old ship) have no real functionality, but airlocks on the base do. They always have door switches, meaning that bugs can't enter (or leave) closed airlocks.

Line of Sight (LOS) The LOS from square to square is traced from center to center. If the LOS touches opaque terrain, it is blocked. If the LOS runs exactly across a corner or edge of opaque terrain, it is also blocked.

Currently, LOS is not computed dynamically, i.e. it relies on a static lookup table that tells which squares can be seen from which other square. There are still a couple of glitches in the tables.

Switches

Switches provided multiple options that are often only comprehensible to characters that have the necessary skills. It is unknown if random button-pushing does anything when a character is operating a switch that they don't recognize.

Lighting

Normal Lighting - LOS unlimited Emergency Lighting - LOS limited to 3 squares, unless you have a Thermal Sight (does not have to be equipped) Lights Off - LOS limited to 1 square, unless etc.

Radiation is bad for you.
