Bughunter Dosomefink

Marines are one of the playable sides in Zarq's game, Bughunter. They're a lot like the colonial marines in the movie Aliens and, at least so far, they spend most of their time making macho comments, shooting bugs, cooking and dying in various gruesome ways.

Strengths

Marines are good in open spaces with cover fire from fellow marines. A squad can tend to hold bays and hallways against large numbers of bugs, who never get a chance to close with their machinegun and assault-rifle equipped opponents.

Marines also have access to grenades and demolitions charges, which can be used to set ambushes for bugs.

Weaknesses

Marines have a hard time entering in staircases and crossing through doorways, which negate the advantage of cover fire.

Often when a bug attacks a marine at close range, the marine will be knocked down and, though he can still fire, it's at a reduced chance and the opportunity attacks by the bug are at an improved chance. Even trying to get up will afford a bug an opportunity attack, which has a good chance of knocking the marine down again. Finally, when other marines are firing into a space with a marine and bug entangled in hand-to-hand combat, there's a chance of friendly fire. Basically, when a bug manages to get in the same square as a marine, it's a good bet that marine is done for.

Currently, there are only Privates, Sarges and LTs. Each squad can have one Sarge. Sarges have the Leadership skill, allowing them to give orders (increase the AP of all Marines in line-of-sight).

There is one Lieutenant for the Marines in each scenario. LTs are just like Sarges except they also get access to the locations of all marines: the "Platoon" button brings up a seperate window with a map of the base. All elements of the LTs unit are marked.
