Opportunity Fire
means that your character (bug or human) can automatically attack opponents while you are offline. OpFire is triggered by:
- enemy movement (including standing up). To fire, you have to see the square the character is moving into.
- enemy attacks
OpFire does not cost AP.
How?
To set a character to OpFire mode, exit the game by clicking the "Opfire and Logout" button after selecting a suitable minimum hit chance from the dropdown field. The character will not attack unless he has at the last that probability of a hit with the currently equipped weapon (or claw, tentacle, or other part of his anatomy).
Whom?
You can choose which teams to attack with OpFire. Click the "OpFire" button to set this character's OpFire enemies. As default, humans attack monsters and vice versa. But you could for example have a Marine opfire at civilians, or choose not to attack monsters in OpFire.
And then?
If a weapon jams during OpFire, humans will try to equip a backup weapon before their next opfire attack. Currently, backup weapons are: Pistol, Revolver, Dragoon Revolver, Knife, Crowbar, Baseball Bat, Cattle Prod, Assault Blaster, Commando Knife, Nail Clipper
Jams (of equipped weapons) will be cleared in the next 30-minute cycle. No skill roll is necessary.
