Mission impossible? Been there, done that. Before breakfast.

Orbital Assault Troops, or OATs, are futuristic human military troopers, much like the modern Airborne, who wear power armored dropsuits (Basically they're miniaturized, futuristic, individual OV-10s) and utilize the most powerful, most modern weaponry.

Marines land on hostile planets in shuttles, Orbital Assault Troopers land only in their dropsuits. They are seven feet tall, heavily armed, smart, witty and handsome. The elite of the elite, operating only in small teams. When Johnny Depp, a Marine and an OAT come into a bar full of beautiful females, Johnny Depp and the Marine go home alone. They have very fancy OAT special equipment and spotless shiny golden OAT heavy armor (aka Dropsuits). Their special titanium-carbide OAT can openers cost more than an entire Marine squad's equipment.

Higher ranks have platinum dropsuits.

OAT legionnaires tend not to take notice of lowly marines, unless they stand in their way. It is not known yet whether they taste different than Marines.

There is more than a little Interservice Rivalry between the OATs and the Marines.
