Come with me on a tour of the beautiful space-starfish known as Space-Base Olympia!
Fifty years ago, Spacebase Olympia was the only thing standing between the human race and annihilation at the hands of several strange and equally unnerving space viruses, hyperintelligent entities and unknown alien species. Under the just and firm leadership of Captain Halloran, Spacebase Olympia and its ethnically diverse crew managed, in the nick of time, to consistently invent miracle cures and fight off cruel villains in a manly and only slightly homoerotic manner. Today, though still run by efficient Naval Service personnel, Spacebase Olympia is primarily a civilian dock, and a third-rate one at that. In desperate need of a total retrofit, Spacebase Olympia has managed to avoid the scrapyard through creative use of naval authority and its proximity to Deng Space. It's current command staff, decked out in Navy White, is happy to buy and sell everything from UN refugees to surplus battlecruisers.
The base's security systems are the most advanced systems money could buy.. thirty-three years ago (The last time the base had a true overhaul). Not that there isn't firepower on the base, but it's mostly kept in crates, hidden behind the surplus dixie cups, to be sold to some gentleman from Rigel who should be arriving next week.
